Love Death & Money

Daisy Productions presents LOVE, DEATH and MONEY a fresh and entertaining evening of operatic delight.

This show has produced standing ovations in Denmark, Cottlesloe and The Hyatt in Perth as Tamsyn Stock-Stafford, Penny Shaw and Sarah Sweeting joined forces to explore the eternal preoccupations of ‘Love, Death and Money’ from an operatic point of view.

This lively programme of arias, duets and trios includes exerts from Carmen, La Traviata, Faust, Madame Butterfly and The Marriage of Figaro; along with some lesser-known offerings that may be new discoveries for some.

• Sarah Sweeting made her mezzo-soprano debut as Carmen at the prestigious London Opera Festival 2000 and has toured Australia as part of the Carla Rosa Opera Company. She has recently moved to Sydney.

• Penny Shaw has sung principal roles for many companies including English Touring Opera and European Chamber Opera and played Carlotta in The Phantom of the Opera. Since moving to Perth Penny has sung small roles with the West Australian Opera and will be back at this year’s Vienna Pops New Year’s Eve concert by popular demand.

• Tamsyn Stock-Stafford is one of Perth’s best-loved sopranos. Tamsyn is currently Young Artist for the West Australian Opera and will sing the soprano solo in Carmina Bruana at His Majesty’s Theatre later this year.

• Musical Director Tommaso Polio is extremely well known in Perth’s musical circles and is the resident repetiteur for West Australian Opera.

This show was performed in Oxford, England to glowing reviews in 2001 and has gone on to enchant both opera buffs and newcomers to opera everywhere.
